EPWORTH’S 125th CELEBRATION

‘Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire’

This is what Epworth has done, and done extremely well, for 125 years – lighting fires of capacity in the lives of young pupils to contribute to our ever-changing world.

On campus in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, we have been sharing a full calendar of projects and events in this year of gratitude. The grace to have survived and thrived as an academic institution since 1898 is not lost on any one of us. Deo Gratias.

We invite you now, as you enter these winter/ half-year holidays to share with our Foundation, some of our accomplishments in support of the school this year.

Numerous celebratory events hosted by the Foundation, including a ‘Nite of Stars’ in the company of world-class sportsmen and women specifically associated with our school through the Foundation, sharing their great stories of achievement and another event (inter alia) being a ‘Gala Dinner’ in the Haley Hall to celebrate the ‘homecoming’ of 150+ national and international past girls for reunion weekend in May.

And for now, at this halfway mark of our exciting year – success achieved with a R1million+ fundraising campaign driven as a crowd-funder these past 12 months and powered by the Foundation. This campaign focused on motivating funds for bursaries to be raised around a high net-worth original artwork of Mandela, painted and donated by renowned artist & parent Makiwa Mutomba.

To all past, present and future Epworth community members, we give thanks to you all, we honour our generous givers and above all, we praise our Heavenly Father for His providential care of all our needs.

With warmest regards
